  1. Continuing our winter warmed by the fire of D&B at our MONTHLY DRUM & BASS PARTY featuring all the intimate vibes you expect from our summer Sunday School sessions. This month as a special treat to Edmonton's D&B community we've decided to welcome a VERY SPECIAL UK GUEST: N I G H T S C H O O L -------------------------- Monthly Drum & Bass @ 9910 w/ PK SOUND Season 1 : Episode 3 : “LOVE IN THE AIR" As mid February approaches the Gang feels the romance in the air! Old rifts are healed, and new connections forged as the gang goes deeper into their lessons. Do they throw themselves into their passions with reckless abandon or will they remain scientific and logical? TUNE IN THIS FEBRUARY TO FIND OUT! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Month Starring: SPECTRASOUL [Exit / Metalheadz / Critical / Shogun, London UK] PHATCAT b2b DEGREE *Love Conquers All ReUnion Set* ZEAL ARSON xPULSE ... as Our Gang Evening Announcements courtesy of MC 3POH ENERGIZER MC ------------------------- - S P E C T R A S O U L - [Exit / Metalheadz / Critical / Shogun, London UK] Since their emergence in 2006, SpectraSoul have carved a truly unique position, not only in Drum & Bass, but electronic music as a whole. Having released music on only the very finest and most respected labels in the scene, from Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz, to dBridge’s boundary breaking Exit Records, and Kasra’s ever progressive Critical Music, they went on to become vital members of Friction’s irrepressible Shogun Audio imprint. Beautifully deep and etched with groove yet powerful enough to move any dancefloor, SpectraSoul’s stunning musical productions are a far cry from the soulless, synthetic rave fodder so many unfortunately associate with Drum & Bass today. Their creative evolution has seen them incorporate such a variety of tempos and moods – bending genres in the process – yet their underlying sound remains instantly recognisable, and in many ways unique. The breadth of their creative influences is a rarity within their peer group; taking influence not only from a unique mixture of musical genres and moments in time, but also from wider fields such as photography, art, film and beyond. With the release of their debut album ‘Delay No More’ in July 2012, SpectraSoul received well-earned critical acclaim from an idiosyncratic plethora of supporters, and impacted, not only on UK shores, but across the globe leading to a touring schedule covering 4 continents and 30 countries, as well as radio support from far and wide. With the singles ‘Light In The Dark’ and ‘Away With Me’ gaining heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6Music. Their sophomore album, ‘The Mistress’ followed in 2015, and saw the duo gain notoriety from top DJ’s at BBC Radio 1, and 1xtra, with the lead single, ‘Always’, serving as Annie Mac’s ‘Special Delivery’. The world tour that followed saw the duo playing extended 3 hour sets to allow them to showcase their discography, as well as the breadth of their taste within the 170bpm format. With this success came a string of high profile remixes for artists such as Jungle, John Newman, Raleigh Ritchie, Benzel, and Dornik, all of which gained support from specialist radio figureheads such as Annie Mac, Mistajam, Huw Stephens, Friction and others. 2016 sees the duo spread their wings and launch their very own label, Ish Chat Music — with the plan to release with greater frequency and and to present a broader and more varied selection of SpectraSoul music; musically rich and diverse as ever. ------------------------- The Night School gang is here at 9910 for their first semester. "SOUNDCLASH" feat: SINISTARR [Exit / Hospital / Loose Squares - Detroit] https://soundcloud.com/sinistarr Jeremy Howard, aka Sinistarr, is truly one of the most interesting and exciting names to hit the underground dance music world this past decade. He has become known as an innovative and consistent producer and a skilled and adventurous DJ, and his sound is an authentic extension of his soul and the pure talent that Jeremy possesses, deftly exploring the soul of yesteryear with a modern context. This sound represents his life living in and around his hometown of Detroit, MI and his collective travels around the world. His creativity defies genres, and sees him infuse his unique sound into a broad range of tempos and vibes. He is equally at home writing emotive headphone music, or in-your-face dance-floor cuts.Jeremy began his movement deeply rooted in the world of Drum & Bass, having releases on legendary labels like Metalheadz Platinum, Renegade Hardware and Creative Source. He continued over the years to evolve his sound as his own prowess as a producer grew, eventually branching out into many different tempos, still maintaining his unique sound exploring the realms of Footwork, Jungle and Techno. Recently he has seen releases on labels like Tectonic, Hospital, Loose Squares and most notably, the 70th release on dBridge’s iconic imprint Exit Records. He has shared the stage with and been supported musically by some of the biggest names in the game like Machinedrum, Fabio, Ivy Lab, Om Unit, Sam Binga, Rockwell & Dabrye to name but a handful. His sounds have been heard all over Rinse FM, NTS, FM Xtra and BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra and he turned in a DNB60 mix for Friction’s quintessential Drum & Bass show. With all of this momentum, Sinistarr has been increasingly touring and hitting major clubs and festivals like SXSW, Secret Solstice, Tresor, Shambhala Music Festival, Bass Coast, and many others across North America and Europe. There is seemingly no obstacle too high for him, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to watch his amazing journey. GREAZUS [Critical / Hospital / Aufect - Vancouver] https://soundcloud.com/greazus GREAZUS is the brainchild of HxdB & Patrik Cure. After working together for years running the record label Aufect, and throwing parties in Vancouver, they realized they also had synergy in the studio when they linked up for a casual production session. That production session has since snowballed into dozens of original songs, remixes and collaborations, festival bookings around the globe, the respect and support of their peers, and an ever-growing cult of weirdos following them faithfully. Their DJ sets are always memorable, high energy affairs, replete with their own productions and loads of dubplates that seemingly bridge the sounds of Grime, Footwork, DnB and more. JAKE ROBERTZ [Future Roots / Muti Music - Homegrown] https://soundcloud.com/jake-robertz Jake has been a core part of the Edmonton Electronic Music Scene since 2008, and is well known for his productions and DJ sets consisting of entirely original music spanning many different genres and sounds.
